We have developed a simple CoP learning simulation to assist USAID staff in learning how to develop CoPs and to better understand some of the challenges posed by CoPs. The simulation uses simple game metaphors to guide teams of individuals through the real-life examples of the problems that USAID CoPs have faced as they developed their programs.
The simulation requires a trained facilitator with experience
in CoPs to be able to be played effectively. Individuals wishing
to organize a session in which to experience the CoP simulation
are requested to contact Lee White to schedule a time. The simulation
typically takes one to two hours to set up and play.
