Best Practices: People and Culture - Training Approach

Training is often a key driver when it comes to acceptance of knowledge for development issues within organizations. We have observed in best practice organizations that the rollout and alignment of training programs with the organization-wide strategy and the KM strategy is critical to the success of the KM program. Training approach consists of the few steps outlined below:

Steps for Developing an Approach to Training: 1. Determine regional training approach (select training option based on high level site requirements), 2. Plan training (conduct training needs analysis, select appropriate modules, translate training into local language if necessary, and plan for the training), 3. Conduct training (carry out the training and distribute user support materials), and 4. Evaluate training effectiveness (conduct evaluations and conduct post-training skills assessment).
